  • How do solar panels work?
Solar panels convert sunlight into electricity using photovoltaic (PV) cells, which generate direct current (DC) power when exposed to sunlight. An inverter then converts DC into alternating current (AC), making it usable for homes and businesses. Excess energy can be stored in a battery or exported to the grid for credits.
  • What maintenance is required for solar panels?
Solar panels require minimum maintenance, mainly keeping them clean and free from dust to maintain efficiency. Each system installed by Joomi is eligible for Renew, our included maintenance program.
  • What government incentives are available for solar installations?
Across Australia there are several government incentives are available to support solar installations: 1. Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme (SRES): This federal program offers Small-Scale Technology Certificates (STCs) to owners of eligible solar systems under 100 kW. The number of STCs is based on system size, location, and installation date, effectively reducing upfront installation costs. 2. State and Territory Programs: For details refer to Rebates & Incentives page. 3. Feed-in Tariffs: Many states offer feed-in tariffs, allowing solar system owners to receive payments or credits for excess electricity exported back to the grid. Rates and availability vary by region and energy provider.
  • What warranties and guarantees do you offer?
The main components of your solar system are covered by a product warranty held between you and the manufacturer. However, every system we install includes Renew. If a product is faulty, we will engage the manufacturer on your behalf, working directly with them to fix the problem and get your system running as soon as possible. No need for you to contact the manufacturer to diagnose the fault or arrange a replacement—we handle it all for you.
  • Is my property suitable for solar panels?
Not all properties are suitable for solar for a variety of reasons such as; insufficient roof space, poor roof condition, strata approval, heritage listing or safety concerns during installation. Our system designers will assess your property to help ensure your home is suitable for solar.
  • Can I add a battery storage system to my solar setup?
Yes, it is always possible to add a battery to an existing system. However, it's best to discuss with our System Designers when they are designing your system. The right design upfront could save you thousands of dollars when it comes time to buy a battery.
